Parker Water Supply Corporation Statement on Biosolids and PFAS in Johnson County.
February 12, 2025
In response to the emergency declairation by the Johnson County Commissioners court yesterday, we would like to address concerns about the application of biosolids in Johnson County and its implications for PFAS contamination of natural resources.
We want to emphasize that the PFAS contamination of ground water referenced in the declaration does not effect Parker Water Supply Corporation Customers. Through the water quality monitoring parameters mandated by the (EPA), our sampling has not detected PFAS in the groundwater from our wells that provide water to our customers. We encourage all residents who are not on the public water supply and rely on private water wells to have their wells tested. As for our surface water that is blended in our system water testing results have came back below the minimum reporting level for the PFAS regulated by the (EPA), which means they are below the lowest measurable concentration detectable by laboratory.
Our mission at Parker Water Supply Corporation is to provide safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water to our customers. Information on our water quility sampling data can be found in our CCR thats listed on our website.
